Chili (with turkey)!

  • A couple pounds fresh tomatoes, Roma and regular, chopped
  • 3 green peppers diced
  • 2 onions chopped
  • At least 10 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 or 3 jalapenos, with seeds, chopped
  • spices


Brown some ground turkey in oil. Then add the  onions and garlic and cook until the onions are clear.

After that, add all the tomatoes and green peppers, and a few spoonfuls of tomato paste. We also added some vegetable stock and a can of stewed tomatoes at this point, but it’s probably unnecessary since the fresh tomatoes will add all the juice you need once they cook longer.

Start adding spices. We started with salt and pepper, turmeric, red chili powder, cumin, cumin seed, coriander powder, and oregano.

Dump in two cans red kidney beans, rinsed, and a can of corn, drained.


Stir it up and simmer on the stove for at least an hour. Delicious!

This bowl has cheese, scallions, and cilantro as a topping.

Garnish with cheese, scallions, and cilantro.

You can add a dollop of plain yogurt to cut the spice.
